http://www.nytimes.com/2015/04/16/world/africa/mali-suicide-bomber-attacks-un-base.html Version 0 of 1. A suicide bomber attacked a United Nations peacekeeping base in northern Mali on Wednesday, killing at least three people and wounding at least 16 others, the United Nations mission said. The United Nations said the bomber struck in the town of Ansongo in the northern Gao region. The region was under the control of Al Qaeda and other extremists for about a year until a French-led military intervention scattered them in 2013. Over the past two years, remnants of the jihadist groups have carried out scores of attacks. |
