A passenger plane carrying about 100 passengers has made an emergency landing at Leeds Bradford International Airport. A passenger plane carrying about 100 people has made an emergency landing at Leeds Bradford International Airport.
"The aircraft has landed safely," a West Yorskire Fire and Rescue Sevice spokeswoman said. A full emergency was declared when the pilot of an Austrian Airlines flight radioed ahead to report a problem with one of the engines.
"They had a problem with one of the engines," she said. The crew of the Fokker 100, travelling from Innsbruck to Leeds, had noticed the engine was malfunctioning.
There are no reports of casualties or damage to the aircraft, she added. "The aircraft has landed safely," said an airport spokeswoman. "Everybody has been taken off and nobody was hurt."
The spokeswoman said: "The right engine is what they called idle, it wasn't working correctly.
"It landed and all the passengers have disembarked."
The airport was operating normally and no other flights had been affected, she added.
Up to 12 fire engines were seen at the airport ready for the emergency landing.
However, eye witnesses said the plane appeared to land without any problems.
