Man arrested on suspicion of Syria-related terror offences is bailed

A 25-year-old man has been arrested in Birmingham on suspicion of Syria-related terrorism offences, West Midlands Police has said.

The force's counter-terrorism unit detained the suspect, from Yardley Wood, at an address in the Billesley area of the city at about 07:00 BST.

The arrest was "pre-planned" and "intelligence-led", police said.

There was no immediate threat to public safety, the force said, and the man was later released on conditional bail.
