Version 0 of 1.

More than 150 passengers on board a Bolivian-operated Boeing 727 have survived a crash landing in a swamp.

The jet, operated by Lloyd Aereo Boliviano, was heading from La Paz to the northern city of Cobija before it was diverted because of bad weather.

It crash landed about 2 miles (3.3km) short of an airport in the lowland city of Trinidad.

A number of passengers were reportedly injured in the incident and all were taken to local hospitals for checks.

A flight engineer said the engines had failed because of a mechanical fault. An investigation is under way.

Lloyd Aereo Boliviano's flights have been largely suspended for nearly a year because of debts and legal troubles.
