Prudhoe rape: Woman attacked in Adderlane Road

A woman has been raped as she was walking in a Northumberland street.

The 24-year-old was attacked as she walked along Adderlane Road in Prudhoe at about 05:00 BST on Sunday.

Northumbria Police said the assault happened in a rear alley between Holyoake Street and Neale Street.

A force spokeswoman said the attacker was described as being white, in his early 30s, about 5ft 11in (1.8m) tall and of broad build. He was wearing a blue hooded top.
