Britain’s biggest pillow fight going down in Trafalgar Square
Version 0 of 1. The stoic figures of Trafalgar Square including Gandhi, Winston Churchill and Nelson Mandela have guided the world through some of history's great struggles - but today they witnessed a fight like none they'd ever seen before as thousands took to the square for for International Pillow Fight Day. It would no doubt also have been a shock for tourists descending on the world-famous London landmarks over bank holiday weekend, who would have been well advised to to duck down as the battle entered full swing. The battle in London was just one of many, with Budapest, Amsterdam, Maastricht, Hong Kong and Oxford also hosting pillow fights to celebrate the day, now in its seventh year. Afterwards, the adversaries were expected to shake hands and head to St James’ Park to relax with their pillows and ‘enjoy the sunshine’. And while organisers left strict instructions on facebook page, urging others to take precautions so people were not injured, police in Oxford were taking no chances, according to one social media user.
