Sorry - this page has been removed. Dortmund’s Mats Hummels denies ‘promise’ to join Manchester United
(2 months later)
This could be because it launched early, our rights have expired, there was a legal issue, or for another reason. Borussia Dortmund’s Mats Hummels has dismissed reports that he has agreed a deal with Louis van Gaal to join Manchester United.
The Germany defender has long been a target for several top European clubs and recently said he would like to play abroad at some point. Hummels’ current deal runs out in 2017.
For further information, please contact: Responding to reports that he had made a promise to the United coach, the central defender tweeted: “Just to be clear. This alleged ‘promise’ is simply an invention and that is saying it nicely.”
Dortmund, German champions in 2011 and 2012, have been struggling this season and are in 10th, chasing a European spot with eight games left. They face Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
Um es klarzustellen: dieses vermeintliche "Versprechen" ist einfach nur frei erfunden...und das ist noch die freundliche Formulierung.
