A British soldier has been found dead on a pavement in Miami, where he was on holiday attending a music festival. Private Shaun Cole, whose body was found on a pavement on Sunday morning, is thought to have been at the Ultra music festival with friends. Miami police have said the cause of the death is “unclassified” and are appealing for information. Local media have reported that he died as a result of a head injury. | |

In a statement released through the army, his family paid tribute to the soldier, who they said was extremely popular. “It comes with such regret that we have had to say goodbye to an amazing son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend,” they said. “An extremely popular young man, he had a flair for life and was always the life and soul of everyone he was around. He was an incredible young man who had his life taken from him too soon. We ask everyone to respect our privacy to grieve.” | |
