With the announcement that Jeremy Clarkson was out of a job coming just a few hours earlier, the internet was in meltdown. Cue jokes and memes intertwining the two celebrity departures, such as this one where Clarkson becomes the new member of the band and takes on one of their biggest hits What Makes You Beautiful. Another unlikely face swap came in the form of James Corden as the Mona Lisa, during his debut as host of The Late, Late Show in the US. Tom Hanks comments “Wow, those eyes really do follow you around” as the duo hilariously recreated a scene from the Da Vinci Code alongside all Hanks’ other movie roles in this seven-minute-long one-take sketch. There was more reminiscing about old movies this week as Pretty Woman turned 25. The cast, including Richard Gere, Julia Roberts and director Garry Marshall, were reunited in the same room for the first time by the Today programme. Gere revealed that he turned down the part several times but after a meeting between him and a then virtually unknown Roberts, arranged by Marshall, he couldn’t help but change his mind. Gere said: “She’s across from the desk and she takes a piece of paper and she is writing something on it and she turns it around and pushes it to me and it says ‘just say yes’. It was so sweet and I just said yes.” From remembering the old favourites to reworking a new one, Kfacetv have magically transformed Bruno Mars’s and Calvin Harris’s popular chart hit Uptown Funk into a spellbinding Harry Potter-themed parody. Voldemort shows off a whole new side warning “It’s Saturday night and we’re taking Hogwarts”, before thrashing Harry, Ron and Hermione in a dance battle. Teaching this old dog new tricks wasn’t quite so easy. A cute slo-mo compilation features Fritz the dog jumping to catch a variety of food, including a steak, a doughnut and even a strawberry.
