After taking new role, I find that newer people are earning more
Version 0 of 1. Twice a week we publish problems that will feature in a forthcoming Dear Jeremy advice column in the Saturday Guardian so that readers can offer their own advice and suggestions. We then print the best of your comments alongside Jeremy’s own insights. Here is the latest dilemma – what are your thoughts? I took on the role of shift manager at my work in February 2014. The company has recently taken on more shift managers, same job, same pay grade. Two of these were within 12 months of my appointment and they are being paid a higher salary. I understand you can’t give legal advice, but based on your knowledge and personal experiences, do I have a case for discussion with my senior team? Or do I just forget about it and crack on? Do you need advice on a work issue? For Jeremy’s and readers’ help, send a brief email to dear.jeremy@theguardian.com. Please note that he is unable to answer questions of a legal nature or to reply personally. |
