Germanwings plane crash: Watch live stream of Lufthansa press conference
Version 0 of 1. It emerged earlier today that Germanwings co-pilot Andreas Lubitz was responsible for bringing down the plane that killed 150 people in France on Tuesday in an act of suicide and mass murder. Marseille's public prosecutor Brice Robin confirmed on Thursday morning that the 28-year-old who had joined Germanwings last year, had locked the first officer out of the cockpit and steered the plane to crash into the French Alps. This afternoon, CEOs from Lufthansa the company that own Germanwings are holding a press conference to field questions on Tuesday's tragedy and the latest revelations that a Germanwings pilot was responsible for the deaths of 150 passengers. Commenting on the background of Lubitz, Lufthansa CEO Carsten Spohr said that “he was fit for flying without any restrictions" and his performance record had been "without any criticism" prior to the incident, and "nothing at all was striking" about Lubitz. Spohr earlier said he was "speechless" when he heard the latest revelation, and that he did "not think things could get any worse." Watch a live stream of the news conference in full above |
