A 14-year-old boy has been arrested after the death of a teenager found seriously injured in the street. A 14-year-old boy is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court after a teenager died in Bishopbriggs.
The 17-year-old was discovered after a disturbance in Ronaldsay Drive in Bishopbriggs, East Dunbartonshire, and died a short time later. The schoolboy was arrested after Christopher Johnston, 17, was found injured in Ronaldsay Drive at about 2130 GMT on Saturday.
Emergency services were called to the scene just before 2130 GMT on Saturday. Police said Mr Johnston died later in Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
A post-mortem examination has been carried out and Strathclyde Police said a full report would be submitted to the procurator fiscal. A police spokesman said: "A 14-year-old youth has been arrested and is presently detained in police custody in connection with the death."
