Flooding is continuing to cause problems in parts of central Scotland after heavy rain storms.

Central Scotland Police said some roads had been closed and the A84 from Callander to Strathyre was only passable by high-clearance vehicles.

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency has issued severe flood warnings around Loch Tay, the River Earn and the River Tummel.

Forecasters said the heavier, more persistent rain would gradually clear.

A spokesman for Central Scotland Police said high-clearance vehicles, such as lorries and some 4x4s, could pass through the flooding on the A84, but it was still too deep to allow saloon vehicles through.

The A908 Fishcross to Tillicoultry road and A905 Airth to Dunmore road were closed by the deluge.

Several properties were also affected by flooding in the Tillicoultry area and the police said a number of residents had been advised to leave their homes.
