A pedestrian has died after he was struck on a major road in the Borders. A pedestrian who died after being hit by a vehicle in the Borders has been named.
The accident happened at about 1930 GMT on Friday night on the A968 Jedburgh to Hawick road. Richard Scott, 86, of Hillview Road in Yetholm, died after the collision on the A698 at Timpendeen, Lothian and Borders Police said.
Lothian and Borders Police said part of the road had been closed while investigations took place, but it reopened at lunchtime on Saturday. The crash happened at about 1930 GMT on Friday.
