Man denies Rachel Nickell murder

A man has pleaded not guilty to the murder of Rachel Nickell on Wimbledon Common more than 15 years ago.

The 23-year-old former model was stabbed 49 times in July 1992 as she took her young son for a walk in south-west London.

Robert Napper, who appeared at the Old Bailey via videolink, was charged in November 2007 after a review of Miss Nickell's murder.

The 41-year-old is due to face trial in November.
