Isis: Virginia teen arrested for allegedly helping man join militant group
Version 0 of 1. The FBI has arrested a 17-year-old Virginia teenager for his alleged role in helping a man get to Syria to join Isis, according to a report from the Washington Post. The high school student was arrest at his house in Woodbridge, Virginia, according to his neighbours, who also said that agents took computers and other electronic devices from the home. The teenager has not been identified, due to his age. An official familiar with the arrest said that the teen helped arrange the man’s travel to Syria by using online contacts with Isis. FBI investigators had been conducting surveillance outside the teen’s home for more than a month before he was arrested. The teenager has been charged as an adult, though the specific crimes he has been charged with are not clear at this point. Officials have not disclosed the identity of the man he is said to have helped travel to Syria, though the Post reported the man is thought to be close in age to the teenager. |
