Gunshots struck a building at the National Security Agency campus on Tuesday, a U.S. Park Police spokeswoman said.

The Park Police said no injuries were reported, and police had no information about who might have fired at the building in Fort Meade, Md.

A National Security Agency spokeswoman declined to comment immediately on the incident.

Alicia Woods, the Park Police spokeswoman, said that Park Police responded to the report of gunshots to see if anyone was shooting from the Baltimore-Washington Parkway, which runs close to the NSA headquarters. But police believe there were no shots fired from the parkway area, she said.

Woods said that the NSA found evidence of multiple shots hitting a wall of a building.

Earlier on Tuesday, someone fired a gun from the woods along the Intercounty Connector in Maryland, about 12 miles away from the NSA campus. In that incident, two people were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after gunshots apparently hit the vehicle they were traveling in. Neither person suffered gunshot wounds.
