An attack on houses and cars in north Belfast may have been sectarian, the police have said.

Windows were smashed in six houses in the Serpentine Road and three cars were also damaged during the attack early on Sunday morning.

Detectives have appealed to anyone with information to contact them.

SDLP councillor Pat Convery said he was concerned at the attacks and added that the police must be "pro-active and responsive to the public in the area".

He said the attacks were "unacceptable" and that the only way to deal with the problem was "to co-operate with the police".
