The Logierait lodges near Pitlochry were evacuated on Wednesday evening amid an operation involving police, the fire service and an Army bomb squad.

Mark Crockett, of Falkirk, appeared in private at Perth Sheriff Court facing a single charge under the 1883 Explosive Substances Act.

He made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.

Crockett is alleged to have produced an improvised explosive device, namely a nail bomb, with intent to endanger life or cause serious injury.
