A new video by Giorgio Moroder, Right Here, Right Now sees Kylie Minogue doing what the Australian pop princess does best: clean, upbeat disco-house. The song also has a touch of French-style wah-wah electro – a nod to Moroder’s friendship with that mysterious pair of Parisian robots, Daft Punk.

It’s the first single from the 74-year-old producer’s highly-anticipated upcoming album. Famous for his work with singer Donna Summer in the 70s and 80s, and producing soundtracks for films ranging from Scarface to The NeverEnding Story, the record will his first solo album in more than 30 years.

Joining Minogue as guest artist on the record is a veritable who’s who of female pop artists from the past two decades: Britney Spears, Sia, Charli XCX and Foxes. In a Guardian interview, Moroder said the work will also feature EDM phenomenon Skrillex.

It’s been a busy couple of years for a man whose return to the spotlight came as guest collaborator on Daft Punk’s 2013 album Random Access Memories. His comeback continued with remixes of Lady Gaga’s and Tony Bennett’s I Can’t Give You Anything but Love and Coldplay’s Midnight. In January, it was reported he was producing tracks for Lady Gaga’s fourth album.

On the release of Right Here, Right Now, Moroder said “74 is the new 24!”, proving there’s no slowing down for the the Italian producer in his twilight years.

Minogue’s appearance in the video follows the announcement the singer will headline British Summer Time festival in Hyde Park. Her 12th album Kiss Me Once, reached No 1 in the Australian charts and No 2 in the UK in 2014.
