Isis video purports to show Jordanian pilot hostage Muath al-Kasaesbeh being burned to death

A video has emerged purporting to show the burning to death of Jordanian pilot Muath al-Kasaesbeh by Isis militants.
The video, arriving from an official Isis site, shows al-Kasaesbeh in an orange jumpsuit standing upright in a cage. A burning torch is held to a trail of oil leading the cage before the man is set alight. It is a departure from previous methods of execution used by Isis. The video is yet to be authenticated, but Reuters news agency reported that Jordanian state television said he was killed a month ago.
A relative of Lt Kasasbeh told Reuters news agency that the Jordanian armed forces had informed the family that he had been killed.
The pro-Isis Raqqa Media Centre (RMC) posted a photograph of the Jordanian military identity card of the pilot identifying him as Mu'ath Safi Yousef al-Kaseasbeh, who was born on May 29, 1988. | The pro-Isis Raqqa Media Centre (RMC) posted a photograph of the Jordanian military identity card of the pilot identifying him as Mu'ath Safi Yousef al-Kaseasbeh, who was born on May 29, 1988. |
Earlier this week the Jordanian government vowed to do "everything it can" to secure the release of its captured pilot, after Isis apparently beheaded the Japanese hostage Kenji Goto.
Jordan reportedly threatened to expedite the trials of prisoners affiliated with Isis, some of whom may face the death penalty, if the group killed al-Kasaesbeh. A government spokesman, Mohammed al-Momani, previously said that the authorities were "ready to hand over the convict Sajida al-Rishawi in return for the return of our son and our hero".
