Anderson leaving Manchester United for Internacional, according to Juan Mata
Version 0 of 1. Juan Mata is claiming Anderson has left Manchester United and returned to “his native Brazil” to resume his career there, though Internacional’s hopes of signing the midfielder remain in the balance. Writing on his weekly blog, Mata added a PS that said: “Also, I want to wish good luck to my friend Anderson, who is back to football in his native Brazil. All the best, my friend.” However despite Internacional, a club from Anderson’s native Porte Allegre, wanting to take the midfielder it is understood there is still some work to be done on the transfer. Anderson, who is still only 26, has endured a disappointing time at United since joining from Porto in 2007 despite winning four Premier Leagues, the Champions League, two League Cups and the Fifa Club World Cup. Issues with his weight have blighted Anderson’s abilities and despite the number of honours he has claimed in eight seasons at Old Trafford, Anderson has made only 70 Premier League starts. The Brazilian’s one-time midfield team-mate Tom Cleverley will remain at Aston Villa on loan until the end of the season, with United having no plans to recall the midfielder. It is understood that Cleverley favours a permanent move to Everton in the summer, the 25-year-old keen to work again under Roberto Martínez, after he played for the Spaniard when on loan at Wigan Athletic from United in the 2010-11 season. |
