Introducing our new look
http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2015/jan/28/introducing-new-look-comment-is-free Version 0 of 1. Today, Comment is free joins the rest of the Guardian website in unveiling our new look. The site has been designed for the needs of our readers, taking into account more than 40,000 comments, and we hope you’ll find the new layout clear and easy to navigate, faster to load, and more responsive. You can read more about what the site offers here; please leave us your feedback there or in the thread below. Guardian staff will be on hand to answer any questions you may have. I also wanted to let you know that from today we’re introducing some changes to the Opinion site. In order to run as many pieces as possible, both by readers, and suggested by readers, we’re launching a new email address, where anyone can send us ideas for what they would like us to publish. The address is comment.suggestions@theguardian.com. This will replace the You tell us thread, and we hope it will provide a place where people can suggest ideas big or small, personal, political, or both. All the ideas will be read by us, and we hope that by providing a more private forum for ideas, the widest variety of people will feel confident in making suggestions. We’ll also be introducing a number of new offerings in the coming months. These will include a weekly strand called The moment that changed me, in which people will write about a moment at which their life pivoted – it could be that they met a loved one, won or lost a job, or had another experience that changed their outlook on everything they’d previously thought. If you would like to write for the series, please send a few paragraphs explaining your idea to comment.suggestions@theguardian.com, with the subject heading “The moment that changed me”. There will be other new series and features starting soon too, about which we’ll keep you posted. We’d love to hear your thoughts on the new site, so please let us know – we’ll be in the thread below to discuss them with you. |
