Two people have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the disappearance of a 15-year-old girl from Lancashire.

A 53-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman, both from the Blackpool area, are being questioned by detectives.

Paige Chivers went missing from her Bispham home after a family argument on 23 August last year, police said.

The last confirmed sighting of her by her family was that day getting on a number 11 bus on Ashfield Road.

The enquiry is ongoing and from day one we have, and will continue, to keep an open mind about what has happened to Paige Det Supt Kevin Toole, Lancashire Police

Det Supt Kevin Toole, of Lancashire Police, said: "While we have made two arrests today this doesn't mean that the investigation stops.

"We need to continue to piece together exactly what happened when Paige left her family home in August and any information may help us to locate her.

"The enquiry is ongoing and from day one we have, and will continue, to keep an open mind about what has happened to Paige. I will rule nothing in or nothing out.

"We have been in constant contact with Paige's family throughout and have kept them informed of the investigation and today's arrests," he added.

The teenager is white, 5ft 5in (1.65m) tall with a "Playgirl" tattoo on the back of her neck.
