Two face child abuse pics charges Couple facing abuse pic charges
(about 10 hours later)
Two people arrested in an investigation into pictures of child abuse are due to appear in court in Coleraine later on Monday. A husband and wife from Ballycastle have appeared in court charged with having indecent images of children.
A 33-year-old man has been charged with possessing and making indecent images of children, while a 33-year-old woman is accused of possessing such images. Christopher Duncan and his wife Emma Ruth O'Neill, both 33, are both charged with having indecent images or pseudo images of children on 9 January.
The pair were arrested in the north Antrim area on Friday. Mr O'Neill faces a further charge of making indecent images between last August and January.
Police officers from the PSNI's Child Abuse and Rape Inquiry Unit made the arrests. The pair from Gortnamaddy Drive in the town did not apply for bail. They are due in court again on Tuesday.
Their solicitor said bail was not applied for because sensitive inquiries were still taking place.
A detective told the court he believed he could connect the defendants to the charges.
Both are expected in court in Ballymena on Tuesday.
