Police in suspected arson appeal

A suspected arson attack on a house in Stewartstown, County Tyrone, could have had serious consequences, police have said.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the blaze in West Street, which was reported at about 2230 GMT on Friday.

No-one was inside the terraced house at the time of the fire.

A police spokeswoman said: "Although the fire was extinguished quickly, the potential for the flames to spread to adjoining houses was very real."
