The wreck of the French fishing boat which sank off the Cornish coast earlier this week has been located by a French warship.

La P'tite Julie sank with the loss of six crew 50 miles (80km) off the Lizard peninsula in Cornwall on 7 January.

The sole survivor clung to a buoy for three hours before being recovered.

A French minesweeper has located the trawler lying on its side on the seabed where divers are to inspect the hull for signs of a collision.

La P'tite Julie, which had a Franco-Portuguese crew, was first launched in 1991 and was based at Erquy harbour.
