The Swansea City winger Wayne Routledge has successfully appealed against the red card he was shown against QPR on New Year’s Day and will face no further punishment. Routledge was sent off for his reaction to a strong tackle from Karl Henry in the 86th minute of the 1-1 draw, with Henry booked for the challenge. A statement on the FA’s website on Friday evening said: “The three-match suspension has been withdrawn with immediate effect.” The successful appeal means Routledge is free to face Tranmere Rovers in Saturday’s FA Cup third-round tie. |
