Lewis Mullan search: Body found in Worcester canal

Police searching for a missing man in Worcester have found a body.

Lewis Mullan, 23, was last seen in the Sidbury area of the city at about 03:00 GMT on Christmas Day.

Specialist search and rescue teams were brought in to help check the canal on Saturday morning. Supt Kevin Purcell, of West Mercia police, said a body had been recovered from the Diglis Basin.

Formal identification has not taken place but Mr Mullan's family has been informed.

Police said the death was being treated as unexplained.

Mr Mullan, who is from the area, was last seen getting out of a taxi at the Commandery petrol station, but failed to return home.
