Version 0 of 1.

The hunt for four sailors missing after a fishing vessel sank about 50 miles (80km) off Cornwall has been resumed by French rescue services.

French and British helicopters assisted in the search for the seven crewmen from the La P'tite Julie at its last reported position south of The Lizard.

Two bodies were recovered and one sailor was rescued on Monday.

French rescue services are continuing the search, but rescuers admit hope is fading for the remaining crewmen.

Wreckage spotted

Two empty life rafts were found in the area where the trawler radioed for assistance at about 0400 GMT.

Two helicopters from RNAS Culdrose in Cornwall assisted in the search for the crewmen from the 81ft (24.6m) trawler.

One pilot said wreckage could be seen over a wide area.

The rescued crewman has been taken to hospital in Brest, suffering from hypothermia and severe shock.

Coastguards in Falmouth said they were monitoring the situation and would get regular reports from French rescue services, but added that no British rescue services were due to take part when the search resumed unless they were asked.

La P'tite Julie, which had a Franco-Portuguese crew, was first launched in 1991 and based at Erquy harbour.
