Version 0 of 1.

Warner Bros. has released the second trailer for the movie “American Sniper,” providing a visceral reminder of the emotional toll the Iraq War had on many U.S. troops.

The two-minute video includes wrenching clips of the late Navy SEAL sniper Chris Kyle, played by Bradley Cooper, in combat in Iraq. But it also provides a glimpse of how he struggled with it afterward.

In one scene, he’s sitting at a bar on the phone with his wife, Taya, who asks him if he is in Germany. He responds that he already is stateside, and it is apparent that he hasn’t called.

“What are you doing?” she asks, concerned.

“I guess I just needed a minute,” he responds, choking up. He proceeds to sob.

The trailer also shows Kyle visiting a wounded service member in the hospital, and the SEAL on a satellite phone, on a rooftop in Iraq and exhausted.

“I’m ready,” he says. “I’m ready to come home.”
