Man rescued from River Taff in Cardiff dies

A man who was rescued from a river in Cardiff died shortly after he was pulled from the water, police have confirmed.

The man, 51, from Cardiff Bay, was pulled from the River Taff near Penarth Road bridge after slipping and breaking his knee on 16 December.

A major rescue alert involved two South Wales Fire and Rescue Service boats, police and paramedics.

The man's death is not being treated as suspicious.
