(35 minutes later) | |
One of the UK's most wanted fugitives has been arrested while attempting to return to Britain in a light aircraft.
Paul John Scott, from Liverpool, is a suspected member of a drug-smuggling gang that plotted to bring 40 tonnes of drugs into the country.
The 32-year-old was also being sought by Spanish police in connection with the murder of British national Francis Brennan in Alicante earlier this year.
Police said he was arrested at East Winch Airfield, Norfolk on Tuesday.
It has emerged Mr Scott has since been charged with conspiracy to import cocaine and appeared at Liverpool Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on 2 January. |
