Version 0 of 1.

The family of a woman killed by her husband have set up a charity to educate young people about "the difference between love and abuse".

Dexter Landsberg, 34, murdered his wife Madina, 31, in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, while on bail for assaulting her.

Her aunt Kay Hunda said Death Is Not A Solution (DINAS) would teach people how to recognise domestic abuse.

Landsberg was given a life sentence, with a minimum term of 13 and a half years, on Wednesday.

Madina Landsberg's body was found at her house on 10 June.

St Albans Crown Court heard her husband, who admitted murder, got her in a headlock and choked her to death in the hallway.

She had made claims of domestic violence to Hertfordshire Police and Landsberg was arrested in the months before she died.

His bail conditions meant he was not supposed to have any contact with her.

The force said it had referred its handling of the case to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.

'Thousand chances'

Ms Hunda said Madina had a "really, really troubled relationship" but "she always tried to make it look like it wasn't as bad as it was".

"He stopped her from socialising, she was no longer coming to family functions," she said.

"In spite of how many times family members spoke to her about trying to get out of this relationship, she was always of the opinion that everybody needed a second chance.

"He got a second chance about a thousand times over."

Through DINAS, which is currently awaiting registration from the charity commission, they want to go into schools, colleges and universities.

"What we've discovered through Madina is that some women don't know that it's domestic abuse," she said.

"Some people don't even know that it's wrong, they believe that it's acceptable"
