Former Progressive Unionist Party leader David Ervine has been remembered at a service at Stormont.

The ex-UVF prisoner, 53, suffered a heart attack and later a stroke and a brain haemorrhage last January.

Among those who attended the service were Sinn Fein's Alex Maskey and SDLP leader Mark Durkan.

PUP leader Dawn Purvis said it was about "celebrating his life and the contribution he made to the future of Northern Ireland".

"We know that the Good Friday Agreement is going to be 10-years-old this year and David made a massive contribution in getting the agreement and in seeing devolution restored to the assembly," she said.
