Detectives want to hear from anyone who was on the No 4 Arriva bus service which left Bangor bus station at 14:00 GMT on Friday and arrived at Semmerhill in Holyhead at about 16:00 GMT. The 24-year-old spoke only to confirm his name and address during the four-minute hearing, and was remanded in custody until Tuesday where he will be brought before Mold Crown Court.
Det Chf Insp Iestyn Davies said: "It is understood that the bus was caught in traffic around the Black Bridge area of Holyhead as events at the Blossoms public house were unfolding."
