Man charged with killing nightclub proprietor father

Version 0 of 1. A man has been charged with the murder of his 70-year-old nightclub proprietor father. Scotland Yard charged David West, 44, with killing his 70-year-old father, who is also called David West. The deceased man owned the nightclub HeyJo and the Abracadabra restaurant, both located on Jermyn Street in London’s Mayfair area. He was known as a flamboyant proprietor notable for his collection of brightly coloured suits and his Bentley car. In 2006 he purchased the title of Lord of the Manor of Hollesley on eBay. He was the subject of a 2005 BBC documentary about his investments, called Trouble at the Top. Mr West was stabbed to death at his home in Ormond Yard, behind Jermyn Street. The police were called just after 6pm and found the victim to be dead at the scene. According to his official website, his first job was working as a market trader in the East End of London. He made his money selling discount alcohol and tobacco in Belgium and France. Mr West had a number of other businesses including Eastenders cash and carry, Ultimate Characters Talent Management and Abracadabra Photostudio. He also had stakes in PR firm Forbidden London, Archie Eyebrows shoes, Bloomsbury Ballroom, the Pigalle Club and Granite World, as well as gentlemen's club Mandy's, which claims to be the oldest in the capital.
