Version 0 of 1.

Three women were injured when the rear section of a "bendy bus" started to swing unnaturally while it was heading along the M77 south of Glasgow.

The driver pulled over to the hard shoulder and one passenger was taken to hospital with a knee injury.

Bus operator Stagecoach said an investigation into what happened was under way.

In the meantime, a spokesman said it had withdrawn all articulated buses from service for safety checks.

He added: "We have launched an investigation following an incident involving the X77 Kilmarnock to Glasgow service on the M77 at Darnley Brae, Newton Mearns.

"We would like to praise the driver who acted very quickly and brought the articulated vehicle to a safe standstill on the hard shoulder after he became aware of an unnatural swing in the rear section of the bus.

"The safety of our passengers and our people is our top priority and we are liaising closely with the vehicle manufacturer Volvo as part of our investigation into the incident, which is centring on the chassis legs and turntable that link the two parts of the bus."

Arrangements were made to take the other 41 passengers to their destination.
