Extreme winter weather has caused a series of emergency situations for rescue services in Scotland. Rescuers have called off the search for a man missing off the Kintyre peninsula for the second night.

In a separate incident, a woman was reported missing in Perthshire shortly after 1900 GMT on Friday.
Tayside Police said the search, near the village of Kirkmichael, east of Pitlochry, had to be called off because of poor visibility but resumed again at daylight on Saturday.
A police spokeswoman said the conditions in the area were "pretty horrible" adding that there was snow on the ground and there had been some sleet showers overnight.
