Glasgow Airport tweeted at 16:13: "We are currently experiencing some delays on departures due to restrictions on southern UK air space due to air traffic computer failure." Passengers have been advised to check with their airline before travelling to an airport on Friday evening.
A spokesman for Edinburgh Airport said: "Due to a computer failure affecting London airspace we are experiencing delays on all flights which are due to travel south.
"We are monitoring the situation closely and are doing all we can to minimise disruption for our passengers.
"We encourage passengers to contact their airline if intending to travel this evening."
