He said: "A disturbance of this scale is an unusual occurrence in Northampton." He said there had been a fight earlier in the night at NU Bar which "may have gone up Bridge Street and into Faces".
"The stabbings happened inside Faces nightclub and continued on afterwards outside in Bridge Street," he said.
"This was a lot of people that congregated on Northampton for a pre-arranged evening down at one of the bars.
"A lot of people came from London and as a result a disagreement occurred."
