The Leicester manager, Nigel Pearson, has been charged by the Football Association over his heated touchline row with a fan. It is alleged Pearson used abusive and/or insulting words towards a spectator during last week’s 3-1 home defeat by Liverpool at the King Power Stadium. The FA had written to Pearson to ask for his observations about the argument and has now acted. The manager had refused to apologise to the fan despite a video emerging of the incident and calls from the Leicester City Supporters’ Club for him to do so. He has until 6pm on 16 December to respond. The Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel is due to have an operation on Friday on a broken metatarsal. Pearson said of the recovery time: “An optimistic view would be four to six weeks but it could be longer.” |
