Man admits spitting at Muslim woman at Cabot Circus

A man has admitted spitting at a Muslim woman while she was walking in a Bristol shopping centre.

Jack Hughes, 26, of Upton Road, Bristol, pleaded guilty to racially or religiously aggravated common assault at Bristol Magistrates' Court earlier.

The attack happened at Cabot Circus on 21 July against 36-year-old project manager Hasina Khan.

Hughes was sentenced to 120 hours community service, ordered to pay £250 in compensation and £85 in costs.
