Manchester City’s striker Sergio Agüero faces four to six weeks out because of knee ligament damage, the manager, Manuel Pellegrini, has revealed. The Argentina international, who has scored 19 goals for City this season, was injured in the opening minutes of the 1-0 Premier League defeat of Everton on Saturday. Pellegrini, speaking in Italy before the Champions League game against Roma, said the striker had undergone a scan but that he could not be exact with the timescale. “It is difficult to know exactly how long he will be injured,” he said. “It could be four, five or six weeks. It depends a lot on the way he recovers. But our team does not depend on one player.” |
