Liverpool Street resumes services

London's Liverpool Street station has fully reopened as overrunning engineering work came to an end.

The terminal had been due to reopen on Wednesday morning after being closed for 10 days for work on a bridge and overheard cables.

Network Rail had blamed the extended closure on a shortage of specialist engineers.

The Office of Rail Regulation (ORR) said it had started an urgent investigation into the overrun.
