"Some of the fireworks had caught light and the people of Clevedon were given an impromptu firework display. "We counted eight to ten police cars, four fire engines, an ambulance and various unmarked emergency vehicles."
He added that the emergency services were likely to be at the scene for some time.
"The fire is pretty much under control now and we are in the process of dampening down," he said.
