His family has released a statement in which they said they were "extremely shocked, sad and heartbroken". He and his friend were both stabbed after a row with a man at a bus stop outside The York pub, where they were found by police.
They have called for help from the public "to get the people who are responsible for the murder of our son and brother off the street". In a statement, Nassirudeen's family said they were "extremely shocked, sad and heartbroken about the loss of Nass at the tender young age of 16 - six days away from his 17th birthday.

"Upper Street in Islington is a very busy place at any time of the day, but at 2.30pm in the afternoon both the pavements and the roads are busy and I am sure there are many people who must have witnessed the altercation between these young men." The statement continued: "Nass was an exceptional student and the expectation was that he would go on to study art at University.
A post-mortem examination on the body will be carried out on Thursday. "Nass's favourite type of art was animation and he loved drawing and watching cartoons and playing computer games. His ambition was to become a graphic designer working in the computer games industry.
"Nass was a young man just beginning to make his way in the world and had never been in any kind of trouble. He was taken away from his family and friends by a needless and senseless act of violence."
Appealing for witnesses, Det Insp David Whellams said: "Upper Street in Islington is a very busy place at any time of the day, but at 2.30pm in the afternoon both the pavements and the roads are busy and I am sure there are many people who must have witnessed the altercation between these young men."
The results of a post-mortem examination due to be carried out on Friday, are not yet known.
