A suspect has been charged with the murder of a 50-year-old man who was found dead in a Shropshire alleyway. A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a 50-year-old who was found dead in an alley.
Joseph Hayward, 50, of Laburnum Drive, Oswestry, was found by a member of the public in the Coney Green area of the town in the early hours of Saturday. Daniel Micklethwaite, 28, of Gobowen, Shropshire, appeared at Shrewsbury Magistrates' Court accused of the murder of Joseph Hayward.
A 28-year-old man is accused of his murder and is due to appear before a special sitting at Shrewsbury Magistrates' Court on Wednesday. Mr Hayward, of Laburnum Drive, Oswestry, was found by a member of the public in the Coney Green area of the town in the early hours of Saturday.
A post-mortem examination indicated Mr Hayward died from head injuries. Mr Micklethwaite was remanded in custody to appear again on 2 January.
