(1 day later) | |
About 100 people braved the cold water at Aberdeen beach to raise money for charity on Boxing Day.
Fundraisers take part in the Aberdeen Lions Club Nippy Dipper event every year.
The event sees people running into the North Sea in fancy dress to raise cash for various local charities. More than £5,000 was raised last year.
Among this year's dippers was Keith England, who plunged into the sea in a home made motorbike.
Mr England, who raised hundreds of pounds for charity, said: "I didn't get in as far as I wanted because my engine flooded."
Brownlee Armour, the president of the Aberdeen Lions Club, said: "The eventwent very well indeed, with about 100 people going into the water. So it hasbeen very successful.
"People raised more than £5,000 last year and this year there weremore people taking part, so we're very hopeful that it will raise more moneythan that this time round." |
