One person has been killed and another injured in a road crash in East Lothian, the fire brigade has confirmed. A man has been killed and another seriously injured in a road crash in East Lothian.
It is understood only one vehicle was involved in the collision. A Rover was being driven northbound on the A1 about one mile south of Torness Power Station when the driver lost control and rolled down an embankment.
The accident happened on the A1 near the Torness Power Station outside Dunbar at about 1500 GMT on Sunday. The accident happened at about 1551 GMT on Sunday.
The extent of the injuries of the other person involved, who has been taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, has not yet been revealed. The cause of the accident is unknown. The male driver died after being trapped. The passenger was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.
An accident investigation has been carried out by the police. The road was closed for two hours but has since re-opened.
A Lothian and Borders Police spokesman said: "We are appealing for anyone who witnessed this collision to contact the police as soon as possible."
